Well, I've returned from New York! And I've got a terrible cold to show for it. :-) It was rather cold the whole time we were there, but of course we weren't going to let that stand in our way!
I really enjoyed all the shows I saw!! Cabaret and Parade were both wonderful, and I got to meet Alan Cumming and Brent Carver, so there's a couple of more wonderful theatre men to add to my list. :-) I was also highly impressed with Stephen Buntrock in Titanic, and, of course, was so grateful to see the amazing Douglas Sills once more. Unfortunately the whole Douglas thing didn't go quite how I wanted it to, but at least I got to see him!! And we went to the Statue of Liberty, so that was the big touristy thing that I wanted to do that I hadn't done yet.
Today is the last show for Parade, and Martin Moran's last show in Titanic. :-( I'm glad I got to see those while I was there. I can't believe Parade is closing...I mean, it's not a perfect show, but I really enjoyed it. It should be up for a few Tonys this year.
I also had my interview with Livent while I was there, and it went pretty well, I think! The people were so nice, and the job sounds incredible, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!! I'm still not quite sure how I would be able to afford it, but we'll worry about that once we get to it. :-)
I got called to work tonight, and I *really* wish I could, but I'm so sick that it wouldn't be good. I think that the last thing someone with respiratory problems needs is a plugged nose and a cough. :-) I even had to miss my rehearsal for Little Shop today, which I'm sad about. I've actually spent the entire day in my room...it's 5:00 and I'm still in my pajamas! I haven't done this in ages. Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow, 'cause I've got SO much work to do between now and the end of the month, and having rehearsal every night isn't going to leave a whole lot of time for anything else.
They've announced a closing date for Phantom in Toronto!! :-( Apparently September 26 of this year will be the last show. I HAVE to be there. It's going to be so sad! I've heard they'll be inviting original cast members back to take part...I'm sure it will be an amazing show no matter what.
I know there's more to say, but I should either go back to sleep or try to clean my room...I just kind of dumped all my bags when I returned, so everything is on my floor right now. :-) And I haven't eaten anything all day, so maybe that would be a good plan too...
