I was SO excited on Saturday when I turned the skating coverage on, expecting to see the men's and women's, and we got pairs and dance instead! Yippee! Of course Canadian TV will probably show it as well, but it saved me from having to wait the extra week. :-)
The bad TV news of the moment is that my PBS station isn't showing Kiss Me, Kate! Grrrrrr. So I'll have to get my mom to tape it for me. Which reminds me, I need to ask her about that...
I forgot to mention in my last entry that my little brother got his driver's license! (The day after he turned sixteen - d'ya think he was anxious?) So congrats to him, although he did have to rub it in that he passed his on the first try, unlike me. :-)
The subway system in Toronto sucks. That's all I have to say about that.
Hey, does anyone (Karen, Gill? :-) want to go to Buffalo with me to see Phantom? Pretty please?
After being so nice at the end of last week, it is now quite cold and snowy again. Which is fine by me, I wasn't ready to give up my lunchtime skating just yet anyway! But they really need to do something about the temperature in our office. I swear they turn the heat off on the weekends, because Mondays are always frigid.
I am stealing Alison's idea (which she stole from someone else anyway ;-), and am introducing my "imaginary boyfriend of the day". :-) I won't do it every time I update, just whenever I'm obsessing over somebody!
Today's imaginary boyfriend: Damien Sargue. I was just watching the Roméo & Juliette DVD, and he is so pretty. :-) Despite my friends' best intentions to convince me that I really shouldn't like guys who are prettier than I am, I still find him very attractive. Oh, and he can sing too, did I mention that? ;-) Here are some screen caps I made from the DVD:

*sigh* My trip planning this past year has *not* worked out well. It looks like we might not be going to Hawaii after all. :-( I had planned to use my frequent flyer points, but I just called them today, and they told me that there are no flights available this summer that I can use my points on! :-( Plus, my bonus at work was less than I was hoping for, so there's no way I could afford to buy both tickets. I am so sad! I just told my mom, and she said she wasn't devestated, but I know she's sad too. :-(
So, as an alternative, she is going to come out here and visit me. We will also take a road-trip somewhere - Memphis, Florida and New York were all mentioned as possible destinations. I'm sure we will have a good time, but I just feel bad because Hawaii is the one place she's always wanted to go. But we're not cancelling the trip - just postponing it until next year.
Still, I managed not to be in a horrible mood all day, since it was so beautiful out. I went skating at lunch, and the ice was getting pretty soft! It made spins a little difficult, but I had some nice spring in my jumps! I even did a couple of nice flip-loop-loop combinations - I was pretty proud of myself. :-)
I am finished my accident benefits training course. I feel like I've hardly been in the office all month. And I get to take a day off next week, which doesn't even really seem fair, but I'm not going to argue. ;-)
I was pretty disappointed with The Music Man last weekend. So many talented people, and it just didn't work. Next week is Kiss Me, Kate, which should be awesome - it was filmed just after I saw the show in London, and since I enjoyed the show very much then, I can't see why I wouldn't enjoy this broadcast. :-)
Tomorrow is Friday, hooray!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy!! I'm so happy! Tanith and Ben won the silver medal at Four Continents! Sure, they won it last year as well, but this time, they beat 2 teams they've never beat before, AND the only team that placed ahead of them was the world silver medallists!!
I would like to take this opportunity to give my predictions/hopes for worlds. If these happen, I will be VERY happy. And the fun part is, I think they're mostly realistic (except for the pairs bronze medal, but hey, I can dream! :-) Here they are:
Men:
1. Evgeni Plushenko
2. Brian Joubert
3. Alexander Abt
Women:
1. Irina Slutskaya
2. Michelle Kwan
3. Shizuka Arakawa
Pairs:
1. Shen/Zhao
2. Totmianina/Marinin
3. Lariviere/Faustino
Dance:
1. Bourne/Kraatz
2. Lobacheva/Averbukh
3. Denkova/Staviyski
And I want Tanith & Ben to finish 8th. :-)
Thank you to Gill and Melanie for the Valentine's cards! We had chocolate at work, which is the best part of the holiday anyway. :-) I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day, but the chocolate I like!
I can't wait to see The Music Man on Sunday! I don't know about Matthew Broderick as Harold Hill, but it could work. And besides, there's also Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth, and so many other fun theatre people!
Other than that, I have few plans for the weekend, other than some website updates. Hope you all have a good one!

I just put my laundry in downstairs, so now I have some time to kill. :-)
It has been a year since the Olympics. *sigh* Only 3 more to go!
My supervisor at work asked me on Friday if I was interested in becoming a med adjuster. How do you phrase "I would rather eat hot nails" in a non-offensive way? I think the longer I stay there, the more pressure there's going to be on me to make the move, and I simply do NOT want to.
The flight that I want has only gone up $20 so far! And I can buy it in 11 more days. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
You know how some TV shows have had musical episodes recently? I was wondering what a musical episode of Alias would be like. There would definitely be enjoyable parts, though for the life of me I cannot concieve of a possible situation where Jack might break out into song. :-)
I'm excited about CanStage's upcoming season! They're doing Amadeus and The Last Five Years! I will have to go to both of those. And of course there's this year's Sweeney Todd coming up next month! I have not been to the theatre in SEVEN MONTHS! I am in such withdrawal. :-(
Apparently, the character I'm most like from Chicago is:
Amos
Amos Hart: Meek and shy... quiet... you'll have to
be loud if you want people to notice you.

Which Chicago Character Are You?

What a beautiful day! It is about 6 degrees outside, and the sun is out, and the sun is warm. Hard to believe it was bitterly cold a week and a half ago!
Since it was nicer over the week, I went skating on Thursday and Friday on my lunch break from work. It was so much fun! My spins are improving with the practice - I actually did one on Friday that was decently centred!
Yesterday I babysat for a friend of mine for several hours. Her little girl is 5 years old, and is a sweet kid, but a little hyperactive. :-) So I had decided we would bake a cake to take up some time. So we made the cake, and then just as I'd finished cleaning everything up, she says, "Now we can make cookies!" I was like, "No, we just made a cake", and she says, "No, but we have the cookie box!", and she pulls this cookie mix kit out of her bag. Her mom had sent it with her to make cookies! So then we made cookies too. My kitchen was such a disaster area. And after I did such a good job of cleaning it on Wednesday!! Made me glad for a little while that I don't have a child of my own yet. :-)
In some of my geneological research, I discovered that my great-great grandfather was a multi-millionaire!! Unfortunately he then lost it all. But I guess it's nice to know that I *might* have been rich. :-)
Laurie sent me to a website where you can design your own hero - it's fun! Give it a try here! Here's what mine looked like. :-) (Click on them to see them bigger!)

I'm happy it's February - I knew January would be a tough month, and it was. This one should be better. I would rather it was June though! :-)
