Only 3 more days until the Olympics! I'm so excited/nervous. Although some of my nervousness is coming from the fact that I'm worried about missing the skating coverage. The CBC schedule is not as clear as I'd like it to be.
Did I mention that Jeffrey's picture is on my calendar for February? I think this is a good sign.
This past week has been quite stressful for me, 'cause work is super busy. I don't think I mentioned in here, but I finally got officially promoted at work, after being unofficially promoted nearly two years ago. So this is good and all, but now all of a sudden I'm expected to do more work! It's crazy, it is!
Mostly I'm busy right now because we had two new people start this week, and I've got to train them. But we're also going to continue being busy, because there's new auto legislation being introduced in Ontario at the beginning of March, and it's going to make my life more difficult. Fascinating, no?
On a different note, Susan's been talking me up to some people she knows, and I might have a couple of different jobs doing some web design in the next few weeks here. That would be cool - I could use some more time to work creatively, plus extra money also helps.
This weekend, as I mentioned in my last entry, is my 6-month anniversary with Todd, and we were thinking about going to see a show to celebrate, but that's on Friday night, and so are the Olympic opening ceremonies, so we might decide to stay in...is that an indication that our relationship is already past the exciting stage?? :-) On Sunday, however, his choir is putting on a Valentine's dinner at his church, so I'll be going to that - but since Todd is singing, he won't even get to sit with me! Not very romantic.
I need to start packing more soon. I do have a corner full of boxes in my apartment, but looking around, you'd hardly even know that anything was missing! It's quite scary.
And with that, maybe I should get to the packing. I'll try to update once the Olympics have begun - hope you all enjoy them as much as I will!
Finally! I know that's what you're thinking. Finally, I've changed the design, and updated the site. January is gone in a blur, and I decided I really needed to get rid of the Christmas ornaments, sad as that is. But only 11 months left until next Christmas.
The new design is, of course, in honour of it being only 7 months until I go to England!! The countdown is truly on now, and I've started making lists of all the things I need to do. I'm getting very excited about it, although it does figure that, after five years alone in this city, I finally meet someone when I've already decided to leave.
Todd and I will actually have been dating for six months next week - isn't that crazy?? It really doesn't feel like it's been that long. Our six-month anniversary also happens to fall 3 days before Valentine's Day, so despite my loathing of Valentine's Day, I am buying him a present, for the combined occasions. He told me he bought me something too, and that it is silly. This should be interesting.
And of course, you know what else is next week - Olympics!!!! Hooray!! I really can't wait. I'm going out tomorrow to buy lots of new videotapes. :-) I don't like when they're in Europe, 'cause then all the skating is on the afternoon, and I'll miss it while I'm at work, but I can pretty much guarantee I'll be parked in front of the TV from the 10th until the 26th.
Sadly, I haven't been following the skating closely enough to make any kind of accurate predictions, but I see good chances of both Jeffrey and Tanith & Ben winning medals, both of which would make me extremely happy.
And oh yeah, sometime in there I have to finish packing!! Our moving day is the 25th, and although I've started to get boxes together, there's still an awful lot to do. I had a fight with the phone company when I tried to tell them I was cancelling my account, so I ended up cancelling it right away - which means I have no phone for the next month. Oops!
Alright, I've spent too much time on the computer today, my eyes are starting to glaze over. But I hope you all like the new design, and I promise to try to update a little more often than once a month! I'll leave you with a picture - this is me last Thursday, when I received my CIP designation. Pretty exciting!
