Out the window: a pretty nice day, actually, but with a cold wind
Quote of the day: "It's like looking at the face of God!" --Douglas Sills, The Scarlet Pimpernel

*sigh* I am soooo glad this week is over. Unfortunately, upcoming weeks don't look like they're going to be any better. Until reading week, of course. :-) But the sad thing is, I realize that after that week, I have to come back to another month of classes and endless assignments. It's mostly my journalism assignments that have me so down...Russian history and international politics I actually kinda like sometimes, and Canadian politics I can handle. But having a journalism assignment due every week is just crazy. I think it would be so much better if we could actually be out there getting some job experience, without having to worry about all of this other class stuff. I don't know...I've got a lot of problems with the way the program is organized, and I really don't feel like getting into them now, so let's just leave it there. :-)

In other semi-related news, I decided to be stupid and apply for an internship with Livent in New York City. I don't know what on earth I'd do if I actually got it, but the job was just too perfect to resist. So for now I'm just operating on the assumption that I'm not going to get it, and I guess we'll see what happens from there. :-) I had actually wanted to work in the program in Toronto, but with all the changes to the company, they're not sure that a program will be offered this year. :-(

I had my tap class last night, and after Christmas, a whole bunch of new people joined! We've got four new adults, including one man, and all of them have at least some sort of dance training. I'm feeling pretty pathetic right about now. :-) But it looks like it will still be a lot of fun, and since we've pretty much given up the tree-planting idea (:-), I should be around for recital in May.

I am totally sick of my computer. I haven't been able to use Netscape on it for over two months now, so if there are layout problems on any of my pages, I blame it on my text-only browser! :-) Anyone out there with any Mac expertise...do you know how I can get my RAM doubler working again? It *says* it's working, but my RAM's not doubled! :-) And because of that, I don't have enough memory to open Netscape. It's so frustrating!!!

Anyway. :-) The Canadian figure skating championships started last night, and though they're actually here in Ottawa, it looks like I won't be able to go to any of the competition. I am too broke, and too busy! :-( But I have been catching it on TV, and I have to say I find it just a little bit funny that Emmanuel Sandhu is in first in the men's. Although it also depresses me, 'cause he's only 18! The national men's champion is not supposed to be younger than me! For that reason, I want Elvis to win. :-)

I'm also trying to decide what to do on Sunday...I was supposed to work, but now there may not be work available, and I've been invited to two different Superbowl parties (though I have absolutely no interest in the game, or in NFL at all!). One of them is with most of my housemates and their SOs, and the other is with my journalism radio/TV class. I really don't know which to go to, and likely I'll end up at home on the phone with somebody instead. :-)

Anyway! I think I've wasted enough time for now. I'll try to update the site with something a little more exciting soon. :-)
