In a way, it's someone else's story
I don't see myself as taking part at all

Me and Jensen Achles! (Eric on Days of Our Lives)
(Thanks Melanie, for taking the picture, even though you didn't know who he was. :-)

First of all, THANK YOU to Lindsey for the video...two great obsessions on one video...what more could you ask for? :-) However, this video made me come to a very important realization. I think I'm more obsessed with the Scarlet Pimpernel than I am with Anthony.

Okay, take a minute to collect yourself. I know I had to. :-) I've kind of been denying my Pimpernel obsession, even to myself. I keep telling everyone that Phantom is my favourite show to see, even though I talk about Pimpernel endlessly. I think I finally have to face that fact that I *do* enjoy Pimpernel more than Phantom. I mean, it's hard to compare them head-to-head like that, because they are so different. But, truth be told, I like Pimpernel more. That doesn't mean I think it's a better show...just that I enjoy it more.

And as for Anthony...well, you know I still think he's perfection. That will NEVER change. But, as fun as it was to watch The Main Event, I didn't get those butterflies in my stomach watching him that I always used to, even as recently as last year, when I had already been obsessed with him for two years. I do, however, still get that feeling when I'm watching Douglas, and it's been more than a year since I discovered him.

So what does this all mean? I'm not sure yet. It may seem that I'm being a little overly dramatic, and I probably am, but when you realize that the person/obsession that was most important in your life for almost three years is *not* the most important thing anymore, it kind of throws you off balance. I wish I knew why Pimpernel and Douglas affect me the way they do, but it just defies explanation. I've called Phantom my favourite show for more than six years now...it will just take some getting used to, that's all.

But, on to less silly things. :-) My mom and I watched Simon Birch the other night, and if you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend renting it! I knew I was going to sob, and I did. But it's uplifting too, in a Les Mis sort of way. :-) Oh, and that *is* Jim Carrey in the opening scene, in case you're wondering. My mom and I argued about it till the end of the movie, where they showed him again, and we both had to admit it was him. :-)

It looks as though I may actually get to go to Germany and see Ethan in Jekyll and Hyde after all! I certainly never thought I would. :-) But an opportunity has come up, and if all goes well, I'll be going in October! The down side, of course, is that I wouldn't be able to go to NYC anytime soon, or even to Toronto for Phantom's 10th, but it might be worth it. I would really love to see him in that role, and he's got me very interested in the Bremen production of the show.

Well, I should stop rambling for now...the power went off here for two hours earlier tonight, so I'm just trying to make up for lost time now. :-) It's really sad when you realize how hard it is to entertain yourself for two hours without electricity! :-) Adieu!
