Okay, I forgot to mention a couple of pretty big things in my last entry. I blame this entirely on the whole moving madness.

First of all, my brother is engaged! I am really happy for him. The wedding will most likely be in August, so I'll be going home for that. I'm still hopeful that my mom will be coming out to visit this summer as well, but that will depend on a few things.

Secondly, I went to see one of the previews of Lord of the Rings, which is officially opening this week. I wasn't sure how it would work as a musical, but that didn't end up being a concern, since it wasn't really a musical at all. There were a couple of songs, and a lot of underscoring, but mostly it was a play. That being said, it was a very entertaining play! The actors were great, and the sets and costumes were amazing!! I'll be very interested to read the reviews.

Todd and I went shopping at Costco yesterday, and came home with an awful lot of food. Somehow we managed to fit it all in the fridge and freezer....hopefully it should last for quite a while! I also wanted to take a look at the digital cameras, since I want to buy one before going to Europe. I figure it's time. :-) But that will probably wait until the summer.

Not too much else is going on - I've been stressed about work, as usual. Is it bad that I'm counting the number of days left until I quit?

Thought I had more than that to say, but I guess that's about it! I'm going to the theatre a couple of times over the next few weeks, so I'll have a bit more to talk about then.

March 8, 2006 - 7:54 p.m.

How on earth has a whole month passed since I updated? Unbelievable.

The thing that's kept me most busy is, of course, the move! It was a ton of work, but overall went pretty well. We rented a cargo van, and on the Friday, Todd and I moved all my boxes and small stuff over to the new apartment. On Saturday, Todd's old roommate and Michelle helped us move the rest of my bigger furniture, plus all of Todd's stuff. Then we had pizza. :-) On Sunday, we went to IKEA to pick up some stuff that we needed, and to a grocery store, where we spent $220. I don't think I've ever spent that much on groceries in my life. That's like 4 months worth for me. :-)

Now is the process of unpacking, which is still ongoing, 10 days after the move was complete. Pretty much everything is finished, except the living room, which is still a disaster. And nothing's hanging on the walls yet. And I had to re-pack half the kitchen yesterday, as workers were coming in today to put in a new countertop. But that was worth it, 'cause the new one is much nicer.

Here is the floor plan of our apartment ... except that ours is flipped, so when you come in, you go left to get to the bedrooms rather than right.

Somewhere in between all the packing madness, I did get to watch the Olympics! And a great deal of them too. I don't think I need to explain to anyone who has read this site over the past four years just how excited I was when Jeffrey won his bronze medal. Todd and I have tickets to Stars on Ice in April, which he will be performing in again. Yay!

Work continues to be busy, with that new legislation I hinted at in my last entry. It has made my work day very busy, with lots of meetings, and tons of questions in between. But I'm starting to feel like we're getting a grasp on it, so hopefully things will calm down soon.

I went to the dentist last week, for the first time in five and a half years, and am happy to report that I am still cavity-free! I've never had one, so it's going to be a scary day when I do get one. :-) I went, though, because of my jaw, which has been really stiff and sore for the past...oh, four months or so. Turns out I am grinding my teeth, apparently (must be mostly at night), so I am going to need a mouth guard to wear while I'm sleeping. I'll put this on the list of things to get, next to my orthotics.

Todd's parents are going to be coming to visit at the end of April, and will be staying with us for 10 days! I am quite nervous about this. I mean, he asked me if it was okay, and of course I said it was, 'cause if my mom comes, she'll be staying with us too, but it is going to be weird to have them here. Oh well, guess I shouldn't be getting nervous about that just yet.

Anyway, this has probably been a long enough break from unpacking. I'll see how much more I can get finished tonight - I'm hoping that this weekend it will all be done!
