Wow, it has been a long time since I've updated!! This might even be worse than last summer. It is *so* inconvenient for me to get online right now, because I have to come all the way to campus, which I have no other reason to do now that school's over, and it's not on the way to anywhere. That would also explain the non-existence of my email presence lately, but I promise I will try to reply to some of the pile soon! I hope you're all well!!
Anyway, I am working as well now, which is another reason I don't have time to come online. It's just a temporary job, doing data entry for a credit card company. It's okay - I don't hate it, but I certainly don't enjoy it either. However, it's not stressful in the least, and I get to listen to my music all day, so it could definitely be a lot worse. There's a contest this month to try to get people to work more overtime, and it has some great prizes. I'm determined to win the trip to Vegas. :-)
We had the craziest night last night - after going to the movies (which I'll talk about in a second), it was decided that we would venture out to Kanata to try to find this Jack Astor's restaurant that apparently makes the greatest lemonade/lime-ade in the world. After calls to directory assistance, the restaurant itself, and the bus assistance line, we finally determined the general location of the place. After an hour on the bus, we had to get off and change buses. We missed the transfer by 3 minutes. Meaning we had to wait another 57 minutes. Finally that bus came, and we got on and asked the driver if he knew where he were going. He told us the bus didn't go there anymore. :-) But, it went within a couple of blocks, so we went anyway. We got to the restaurant (after almost getting run over *twice* trying to get money out of a drive-thru instant teller :-) to be told that it would be an hour wait for a table. But we decided to get our lime-ade while we were waiting. And....I hated it. It did absolutely *nothing* for me. AND, the guy mischarged us (he charged us for the alcoholic version of it rather than the non-alcoholic version - and there was no alcohol in it!), so I spent almost 3 hours getting to a place to spend $7 on a drink I didn't like. :-)
Anyway, the movie. We went to see Center Stage, because I insisted on it. You can't have Nicholas Hytner direct a movie, put Peter Gallagher, Donna Murphy, Debra Monk and Ilia Kulik in it, set it in New York, and have tons of dancing in it, and expect me not to go. :-) Anyway, it *was* a little cheesy, as Laurie and Laura had figured it would be (and who also laughed the whole way through it!), but I still enjoyed it. It could have been better, but any movie that has a Parade poster in it can not be all bad!! :-)
I decided to be a tourist today, and went downtown to take in some of the Tulip Festival stuff. I also walked along the Ottawa River and the locks of the canal and everything. Ottawa is really a beautiful city, and I'm glad I'll get to spend the summer here to see how it looks then. But I'd still rather be in New York! :-)
Anyway, I'm anxious to talk to my mother today, so I should leave school soon. I hope you're all having a great May!
