Most recently listened to: Tanz der Vampire
Going to do after this: Go home, eat supper, and start my German lessons! :-)

I can NOT believe it is May 30. I can not believe it was a year ago that I was sitting in the Minskoff, sobbing, watching the last performance of SP2. I can't believe it's been a year since the 12 days of Pimpernel, since the Storm light sabre incident, since the group shot in front of the guillotine, since the cocktail party and getting escorted out of the windtunnel by police. In some ways, it almost feels longer than that, but when I actually stop and think about it, I really just can't believe a year has gone by. I haven't seen Storm in a whole year! This trip to Vegas better hurry up and get here.

Anyway, that was the main thing that kept going through my mind today, all the memories of last year. I WANT TO BE IN NEW YORK RIGHT NOW. I am getting so frustrated with this immigration situation.

But I really don't want to complain about that right now. There are so many other things to complain about! :-) Like the fact that I can barely type right now, because my right arm is crippled from doing 11 hours of typing for the past two days. And the fact that the public library didn't have either of the two books that I wanted to read, both of which they said they had, but weren't on the shelves.

I need something new to read, because in the past month, I've finished The Picture of Dorian Gray, Pride and Prejudice, and Anna Karenina. That's almost more books than I read the entire time I was in school. :-) I just finished Anna Karenina last night, and it's weird, because on the back of the book it says that she's one of the most beloved heroines of literature, and really, I pretty much hated her. My favourite character by far was Levin, I think because he is like me in a lot of ways. Just in the sense that he can't seem to bring himself to care about or be interested in the things that everybody else cares about. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it did to me when I was reading it. :-)

I saw Mission: Impossible 2 on the weekend, and LOVED it! I haven't enjoyed a Tom movie that much since Jerry Maguire. But I have to go see it again, because it was so fast-paced, that if you turned away for a second you'd miss something, and I made the stupid mistake of getting a big drink before the show, so I had to run out to the bathroom in the middle of it, and I know I missed something important. :-) But I think I've got Laurie convinced that she wants to see it, so we'll go sometime.

I've decided that I really don't have the first idea of how to pick up guys in a bar. :-) We went out Saturday night, and I thought I would try, just to see if I could. But I really don't know how! There were two different guys who were watching me pretty much all night, but I was too shy to go up to them, and they never came over. Ah well. I made a bet with Laurie at the beginning of the night that I would know two songs that they played that night. We were there for 4 hours and ... I knew 2 songs. :-) Pretty sad! But they were playing pretty obscure stuff, I think. We're gonna go to a different place this weekend, so maybe that will be better.

I've also decided that I want to learn German. This has been coming for a while (okay, mainly since my trip to Germany), so when I was at the library today, I picked up this "Teach Yourself German" kit. We'll see how it goes. I'm really not good with languages, but my friend Jörn has already been helping me out a bit, so I've got somewhere to start from. Naechstes Mal wenn ich nach Deutschland gehe, sollte ich fein sein!

Anyway, it's late, and I haven't eaten yet, and I should really be getting home. Oh, and have I mentioned that I love Tanz der Vampire? Even if every time I listen to it, I end up with Total Eclipse of the Heart stuck in my head for days.

Have a great week!
