Easiest final Jeopardy question EVER. :-) The category was "Musicals", which naturally meant I would have risked a lot, but then the answer was, "The two longest-running Broadway musicals, both produced by Cameron Macintosh". Well, DUH! And only one of them got it right. Sheesh. :-)
More later - I was sick for Easter, and am still not feeling very well. :-( Hope you all had a good one though!

I'm in a happy mood today! The weather is getting much nicer, which makes me anxious for summer, and summer means - vacation! I'm busy planning 3 trips simultaneously: the trip to New York in 2 and a half weeks, the summer road trip with my mom, and the Europe trip in October.
The New York one is pretty much planned - I booked the hotel today, and the car is reserved. As for my mom's trip, I found a really cool carriage tour of Charleston, South Carolina that we are going to try to do on our way through the state. And my ticket for Elisabeth arrived in the mail today, and Roger sent me the website for the Vienna Boy's Choir, and hopefully I can catch a performance while I'm there!
Karen and Gill have been warning me about it for a while, and it finally happened - I got hooked on the Hairspray cast recording! :-) It's just so fun! I should send it to my little sister, she loves the music from this era. I'm looking forward to having it come to Toronto, since I probably won't see it in New York.
We're having an Easter Egg hunt at work on Thursday! Apparently they're hiding 1300 eggs on our floor! That's a lot of eggs. :-) I was asked if I wanted to help hide them, but that would take away the fun of finding them, so I declined. I did take everybody in my department Easter cookies and chocolates today, and we got some little cakes from a physio centre. I guess this is the build-up to my annual chocolate overload. :-)
Have a great Easter everyone! I'll be in Ottawa from Thursday until Monday, so I probably won't update until then!
Today's imaginary boyfriend: Alexei Yagudin. Alright, so Alexei and I probably aren't soulmates. In a recent interview, when asked what kind of girl he was interested in, he said it had to be "a pretty person", and someone who was smart, but not smarter than him. Well, if the first one didn't disqualify me, the second one definitely would. ;-) However, I really love his skating, and he makes me laugh, so he can still be my imaginary boyfriend. :-)

Could it actually really be spring now? I think it is, but I don't want to get too excited after the crazy weather of the past week.
My apartment is very pastel at the moment. :-) I decorated for Easter over the weekend, as well as taking a trip out to visit a friend in a "little town" just outside Toronto. Oh, and studied for my exam too, which I wrote on Tuesday. I think it went well, and at the very least, it's over, and that's a good thing. :-)
This weekend I am planning on baking Easter cookies and making Easter chocolates - lots of fun! Yesterday I tried a new recipe I got out of a New Hampshire guidebook. It was for "snow pudding", and was actually pretty good, considering it was made out of only water, cornstarch, sugar, lemon juice, eggs and milk. :-)
My exciting news of today is that I got an email from the composer of the Danish musical Atlantis! On my site for the show, I had written "I don't have much information about the development of this show - if you can add any details, please email me"...and so he did! I have not written him back yet, since I just need a minute or two to absorb how cool it is that he wrote me. :-)
Susan and I are going to go try the new McDonald's Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry tomorrow! Did you know that there are now officially more Subways in the U.S. than there are McDonald's? I thought that was pretty crazy.
Today's imaginary boyfriend: Josh Groban. Okay, I don't know much about him other than his voice, but that's pretty much enough. :-) I am listening to his version of "Let Me Fall" from Cirque de Soleil as I type this, and it's just awesome. He could just live in my house and sing for me, that'd work for me. ;-)

Well, it is raining "ice pellets" outside right now. I stepped outside after work, and it really hurt! I was going to do some shopping today, but I can't go anywhere in this weather. It's supposed to keep up all evening too, so getting anywhere tomorrow should be interesting!
So my plans for the weekend might be cancelled - I was going to go out to have lunch with an ex-colleague who's now retired. But if this weather keeps up, we'll have to postpone. At least it wasn't this bad last Saturday (although it was cold!) when Karen, Gill and I went to Sweeney Todd! I think that was actually the first Sondheim show I've ever seen on stage, believe it or not. Anyway, it was really good, I enjoyed it a lot. Regan was beautiful, of course, and I finally got to see Tyley Ross.
In other theatre news, I have a ticket to see Elisabeth in Vienna! They actually had a 3rd row ticket available for the night I wanted to go, but it was 25 Euro more than the 10th row ticket I ended up getting, so I had to pass. 10th row should still be good though! I can't wait to hear the entire cast list, it should be announced pretty soon!
I'm considering using my Aeroplan points to buy the flight to Vienna, just because the situation with Air Canada is making me a little nervous right now, and if anything should happen, I don't want to lose the points. But we'll wait a little while longer and see how it goes.
I was disappointed to learn that Bombay Dreams won't be stopping in Toronto on its way to New York after all. Our theatre news here is that we'll be getting Hairspray eventually...after we get the Producers, eventually.
Oh, and my last skating-related entry for the season, I just wanted to point out that I successfully predicted 8 of the 12 medalists at Worlds! And I probably could have predicted the pairs bronze medalists too, but I was being optimistic. :-)
Today's imaginary boyfriend: Douglas Sills. Douglas has been away from New York for far too long! The fact that I saw him in The Scarlet Pimpernel 11 times should be just a little indication of how much I love him on stage. With ad-libs like this, how could you not?? I'm listening to him right now in the demo recording of Frank Wildhorn's Dracula, and he's just fantastic there as well. I hope he makes a return visit to Broadway very, very soon!
