This no computer thing sucks. I want a computer. I want Internet access. And I want it NOW!
Anyway. Much has happened since the last time I wrote. The move to Toronto ended up going fine, although it was a little more expensive than I planned. ($70 for gas??) The new place is great - I really like my roommate, the kitchen is CLEAN, Tiger's settling down a bit (though he's still a little stressed, poor kitty).
I went to see Outrageous last night. It's a new musical by Brad Fraser (of Unidentified Human Remains... fame) and Joey Miller, who I've never heard of before. But the reason I went to see it is 'cause Tim Howar was in it. :-) I had expected to be shocked a bit, 'cause it's Brad Fraser, and there was one scene in particular that was really graphic. But what I didn't expect is just how touching the main story would be. There's also one song that I haven't been able to get out of my head ever since, which is usually a good sign. Tim was great - a little scary at times, but very good. :-) Although I didn't really need to see his butt onstage - that's something I could have lived without! :-)
That's the only theatre I've been to so far since I've been here, though I'm going to Mamma Mia with Laurie in October. I'm also going to see Otello at the Canadian Opera on Wednesday with my roommate, Marie. And, in the world of ticket-buying, there's not many things more exciting than the fact that Karen, Gill and I have tickets to see 'NSYNC in November! :-) They're not really spectacular seats or anything, but it should be a really good show anyway. I'm excited!!
I'm hopefully seeing Karen and Gill tomorrow since they're coming to the city. They were here last weekend too, actually, but I missed them.
My mom and little brother were here too, of course, for Brett's "Hit, Run and Throw" competition at Skydome. Unfortunately he had a bad time of the hitting (kept hitting the tee!), so he didn't finish that well, but he did have the fastest time in running, and seemed to have a good time. We went to a Blue Jays game (well, Brett went to two, 'cause he didn't want to go sight-seeing with Mom and me!), went up the CN Tower, went to Casa Loma, and just had a good time visiting. I was sad to see them go!
I am working right now, though not in anything theatre-related, unfortunately. I got a six-month contract through my temp agency to be a Claims Assistant at Zurich Insurance. Which is about as exciting as it sounds. :-) I had an interview to be a receptionist at Mirvish Productions (which is not at all what I wanted to do, but I just wanted to work for the company), but I haven't heard back from them yet, so I don't think I got it. Probably just as well, since it really didn't pay very well!
I'm also apparently going to a Radiohead concert in October. Don't I seem like a Radiohead fan to you? :-)
I talked to my best friend from high school this morning. I had just got her wedding invitation in the mail too. So she's the last girl from our class besides me to get married. How strange! Unfortunately the wedding's in November, in Edson, Alberta, so I really don't think I can go, but it was nice to talk to her, and she promised to send me pictures.
Anyway, my time on the computer here is limited (I'm in a library), so I better cut this short, and hopefully I'll update a little more often now that I actually have a library card. :-) Hope you're all doing well!
